01 — Overview
What Is a Star Ceiling?
A star ceiling—also known as a starry ceiling or starlight ceiling—is a custom lighting system that uses fiber optic strands to simulate realistic stars across a ceiling surface.
Unlike traditional lighting, fiber optic stars create depth, variation, and a true night-sky effect. These systems are commonly installed in home theaters, bedrooms, living rooms, and high-end commercial spaces.
Our systems are built using stretch ceiling technology, allowing for a perfectly smooth, seamless finish with no visible imperfections.
02 — Comparison
Stretch Systems vs Star Panels
Unlike pre-made star ceiling panels, our systems are fully custom and seamless.
Our System
Stretch Ceiling Star Systems
- No visible seams or panel lines
- Unlimited star density and layout
- True depth and realism
- Fully customizable lighting effects
- Designed to fit any room size
Pre-Made
Star Ceiling Panels
- Visible seams between panels
- Limited size and modular layout
- Reduced realism and depth
- Fixed lighting configurations
- Constrained by panel dimensions
Stretch ceiling systems offer a significantly more premium and modern result with complete design flexibility.

04 — Process
How Our Star Ceilings Are Installed
Our installation process is clean, precise, and designed for a seamless finish.
Fiber optic strands are carefully routed above the ceiling and inserted through a stretch ceiling membrane. Unlike traditional methods, this does not require damaging the ceiling surface or creating visible imperfections.
The fibers are refined and trimmed for a clean appearance, creating a realistic star effect without bulky hardware or exposed components.
All lighting is powered by a centralized light engine (illuminator), typically installed in:
- AV closet
- Ceiling cavity
- Adjacent utility space
This allows for easy access, maintenance, and long-term reliability.
05 — Investment
How Much Does a Star Ceiling Cost?
Star ceiling installation typically ranges from
$7,000 — $18,000+
Every system is custom-designed, so pricing varies based on the level of detail and performance required.
